Lap Chi Chu
Lap Chi Chu is a lighting designer based in New York and Los Angeles. Recent works include Lynn Nottage’s premier of MLIMA’S TALE, Suzan-Lori Park’s, FATHER COMES HOME FROM THE WARS and Sarah DeLappe’s THE WOLVES.
Lap is the recipient of the 2018 Obie Award for Sustained Excellence in Lighting Design. His awards have included the 2018 Obie Award for Sustained Excellence in Lighting Design, Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Angstrom Award for Career Achievement in Lighting Design, an Ovation award, multiple Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle Awards, a “Drammy” for best lighting. He is on the lighting design faculty at California Institute of the Arts.
